WELCOME
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of North Carolina (LCMHC #12752). I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Syracuse University (Dec. 2015) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from Appalachian State University (May 2013). I have been working full time in the field since August 2016. I have provided treatment both in the settings of out-patient treatment facilities as well as in-home intensive treatment with children and their families.

Research tells us that the one most influential factor of therapy outcomes (that we can measure at this point =)) is not about an intervention but rather the therapeutic relationship. In light of this let me tell you a little about how I show up as a therapist for my clients.
Me as a Therapist
I am always learning new skills and interventions - some might call me a nerd
I listen more than I talk
I remember what you say - I don’t understand how my memory works but it feels like my super power
I am patient - this is your journey and you set the pace
I may be guilty of using humor to lighten the mood and make a fool of myself
I will hold the hope around meeting your goals when you feel like there is none
The need for connection and community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water, and food.
